Situated in the heart of Burien, Washington, Burien Fish House offers an irresistible dive into the Pacific Northwest’s freshest and most flavorful seafood. Specializing in both classic seafood dishes and inventive tacos, this cozy yet lively eatery delivers an authentic taste experience that stands out far beyond typical airport-adjacent dining.
From the moment you step inside Burien Fish House, you’re met with the welcoming aroma of ocean-fresh fish gently mingling with a subtle hint of the sea breeze. It’s an atmosphere that immediately transports you to a coastal feast, setting the perfect stage for their acclaimed menu. Their fish and chips, with generous portions of crispy, golden halibut or cod, are a must-try — flaky, perfectly battered, and paired with crunchy French fries that satisfy every seafood craving.
The taco selection here is nothing short of extraordinary, featuring creative spins like halibut tacos wrapped in grilled corn tortillas and their celebrated Northwest Salmon Tacos. These specialty tacos deliver a delightful texture contrast: tender, succulent fish embraced by soft, warm tortillas, and complemented by fresh, vibrant toppings, leaving a lasting impression on your palate. As customer Elizabeth T. enthusiastically shared, "I’ll be dreaming of these fish tacos regularly," underscoring the uniqueness and memorability of the experience.
Soups and starters elevate the meal — their clam chowder is a standout, boasting a lighter, broth-based consistency that sways away from the traditional creamy style, enriched with tender clams, scallops, and shrimp for an unexpected depth of flavor. As guest Cris n Pitts vividly recalls, "It wasn’t creamy at all… it even had shrimp in it which is something I’ve never tried in a clam chowder," reinforcing Burien Fish House’s inventive approach to seafood classics.
For those seeking indulgence, items like Lobster Roll Fries and Macaroni & Cheese featuring lobster, Dungeness crab, or shrimp truly deliver a decadent, melt-in-your-mouth experience. Don’t miss the Crab Cakes paired with the housemade Seafood Chowder — a pairing celebrated by regulars such as Caitlin Wood, who calls this her go-to spot for lobster rolls and rich, comforting seafood dishes alike.
Overall, Burien Fish House weaves together casual, friendly service and a menu bursting with fresh, bold flavors that linger long after your last bite. Whether you’re grabbing a quick, satisfying meal to-go like Courtney Reed did, or settling in to savor the friendly, unpretentious ambiance, this gem serves up an unbeatable Pacific Northwest seafood experience that you’ll find yourself returning to time and again.

This place was amazing. The flavor of the food was way different from back home. I think the clam chowder was the best thing I got. It wasn't creamy at all more it was more of a soup base item. It even had shrimp in it which is something I've never tried in a clam chowder. This place deserves a rating of 10 stars. If I ever find myself in Seattle again, I'm definitely visiting again.
Holy cow. I wasn’t really sure what to expect walking in here after checking some of the reviews mentioning it was convenient for being close to the airport. Before I get into the details it’s worth mentioning that I don’t think I’ll ever find fish tacos like this ever again, and I’ll be dreaming of them regularly. Walking in, you might not be overwhelmed with instagramable decor, but let’s face it, this is not the spot you go to to take pictures in. It’s all about the food. I started with the seafood chowder… don’t be cheap, do both. Hands down the best seafood chowder I’ve had. Every bite was filled with scallops or shrimp. Next I got the trio fish tacos, blackened (tried to save calories as opposed to the beer batter). I’m convinced you really can’t go wrong whichever way you get them. The tacos were HUGE and filled me to the point I had to sadly toss some, and that’s very unlike me. Next time I’m in Seattle this will be the first place I’ll stop by.
So glad I decided to try this place out. I got the 2 piece halibut with panko crust. It was ready very quickly, the pieces of fish were huge, and it was so hot and crispy. Will definitely be stopping by again next time I'm in the area. This was a to-go order, and the woman I got the order from was so friendly.
Our go to for lobster rolls and lobster mac and cheese! Fish and chips is delicious too!
Upon stepping in the restaurant, a wafting sensory overload of an airy sillage of fish smell fulfilled the the whole atmosphere, but what can you expect from the "Fish House" of which the establishment was named. I was greeted politely and ordered the Halibut fish & chips and seafood chowder. Both were delicious. The chowder was super thick when i prefer my chowder just a little creamier and soupy. I will try the halibut tacos next.
The fish and seafood options here are next level. Clean, fresh, simply prepared, and mouthwateringly delicious. Your choices are halibut, salmon or cod. You can get it grilled, blackened, or fried. If you choose the deep-fryer, decide whether the fish gets coated in a panko crust or beer batter. We had grilled halibut tacos (corn tortillas), panko crusted halibut and chips, and lobster roll with coleslaw.
This is probably one of my favorite places to eat when I'm alone because then I could REALLY GET DOWN!! The fish is Hot, crispy and not oily. The fries are also hot and crispy AND don't taste fishy. Alot of places will cook their fries on the same oil as the fish and when I eat fish and chips I like the flavors too compliment each other. Fishy fries don't do the trick. I also took my Father here. He's from San Fransisco and when He ate her he said "man son this reminds me of Home".So if you want to eat food fish and chips and your in Burien, come here.
